想像力（Imagination） を学問（-ics）する。虚数（Imaginary Number）が空間表現を拡張したように、人は想像を膨らませて社会を創造し、様々な事象を拡張する道具をつくっていく。想像の限界を拡張していくことで具現化できる世界が広がっていく。Imagination + Physics, Imagination + Economics, Imagination + Politics, …ソーシャル・データサイエンスをバーチャルな世界に展開することで、私たちは新しい物理法則、経済原理、法制度を獲得できる可能性がある。想像力（Imagination）を拡張する学問（-ics）として、Imaginics を構想する。Imaginics Resesarch Initiativeでは、物理世界と情報世界が融合した社会をイメージする。これからの社会システムを設計していくために、ブラックボックスであり、絶えず変化をしていく人間、社会、環境を理解することが必要である。人間、社会、環境の動きを計測し、働きかけることを繰り返すことでその性質を識ることができるようになる。これは、ソーシャルサイエンスとデータサイエンスとを繋ぐインタフェース研究である。対象となる物理世界と情報世界の比重、人間から環境へのスケールに応じて、機械工学、情報工学、社会科学を駆使して、その設計原理を研究することを創（はじ）める。

Pursue imagination.Just as imaginary numbers expanded spatial representation, people create society by expanding their imagination and create tools to expand various possibilities.By extending the limits of the imagination, we can expand the world that can be realized.Imagination + Physics, Imagination + Economics, Imagination + Politics, ...By extending social data science to the virtual world, we may acquire new physical laws, economic principles, and legal systems.We envision Imaginics as a discipline (-ics) that extends the imagination.The Imaginics Resesarch Initiative envisions a society in an integration of the physical world and the cyber world. In order to design future social systems, it is necessary to understand human beings, society, and the environment, which are constantly changing black boxes. By continuously measuring and interacting with the movements of humans, society, and the environment, we can gain insight into their nature. This is an interface research connecting social science and data science. We will begin research on the design principles of a merged physical and cyber world by making use of mechano-informatics, information physics, and social science, depending on a scale from human to environment.
